Democracy needs imagination is the theme for this year in which we celebrate inspiring people and transformative cultural experiences, collaborations among people, and between people and institutions.

The Award Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 2 October 2019, in Amsterdam at the Meervaart Theatre.
This is also the date that we celebrate 65 years of the European Cultural Foundation.

The two laureates will be announced on Europe Day, 9 May.
