New Democracy: In Transition

  • Pakhuis de Zwijger (Studio) 179 Piet Heinkade Amsterdam Netherlands (map)

The 21st century confronts us with big challenges such as climate change and inequality, to name just two of the biggest issues. The current political system appears to be insufficient when it comes to adequate answers to these challenges. At the same time, the legitimacy of these politics seems to be questioned. Is our democracy up to revision? During this event, we elaborate on the urgency to redesign our democracy together with Professor of Policy Science and System Innovation John Grin (UvA). We will not solely stick to a problem analysis of the current organisation of our democracy, but we will also deliberate on possibilities to come to new forms of democracy.

With John Grin, Full Professor of Policy Science at UvA (Universiteit Amsterdam)
