Open Call for Tandem Europe

Together with Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie, LKCA, the British Council and MitOst e.V., we are proud to announce the second round of Tandem Community & Participation. This exchange programme supports cultural organisations to set up long-term partnerships with peers across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the UK. Application opens on 18 August, deadline for application is 15 October.

As part of SPACES: Urban activism, advocacy and institutional innovation in post-socialist contexts, our Networked Programme partner Oberliht Association is organising a series of events in Chișinău until 6 September.

New TANDEM programme supports cultural organisations building cross-border partnerships between Ukraine and EU. The deadline for application has been extended to 22 September 2014.

The Preparatory Action on the role of culture in EU external relations gathers some of the most influential politicians and know-how heavy professionals on the field from the whole world to an open conference at BOZAR.

We are very happy to be a partner in the three-day conference, The Future Is Not What It Used To Be, presented by Trans Europe Halles, Melkweg and P60.

The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and the Cartoon Movement are joining forces to explore perspectives on the upcoming European elections through comics and cartoons. ‏Between 31 March and 25 May 2014, we are inviting comic artists and cartoonists to reflect on European citizenship and the various issues that are currently facing Europe. We are not just interested in the EU, but we would like to hear perspectives from countries that are part of European citizens’ daily lives across the continent and beyond.

Bringing together new voices from Turkey, Algeria and the UK, the exhibition Reframe invites nine emerging artists to use their distinctive styles and viewpoints to 'reframe' perspectives through a series of new graphic short stories that examine the cultural, social and political dynamics between Europe and each of the participating countries.

This week we are in Brussels: on Tuesday Teatro Valle Occupato and Teodor Celakoski will receive the sixth ECF Princess Margriet Award during a ceremony at BOZAR which will be preceded by a debate ‘Culture, commons and radical democracy’; and on Wednesday is the opening of the exhibition ‘Reframe, perspectives on Europe through comics from Algeria, Turkey and the UK’ at Philanthropy House.

In order to support the networking amongst  TANDEM participants from various rounds and components of the TANDEM programme, alumni may apply for funding through the network in two categories.

Doc Next Network is calling on media makers, social activists and critical thinkers to take a stand and share their views on Radical Democracy for Europe on video. Submit your audiovisual media works to challenge prevailing notions of democracy and representation, and reflect on alternatives.
