ECF and partners issue letter asking for support to Dutch Ministry of Culture

ECF, Kunsten ’92 and Buma Stemra have issued a letter, which has been endorsed by Europa Nostra and European Alternatives that will be discussed at the Tweede Kamer at the Culture Committee on 30 April 2015 as part of the next Council meeting on Culture.

We ask for the Minister and the members of the Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport (OJCS-Raad) to support the following points we highlight in our letter:

  • Support for culture and heritage in the EU 2020 agenda
  • Support for research on spillover effects of the creative sectors
  • The contribution of culture to citizenship, after the attacks in Paris

In addition, in the frame of the Latvian Presidency of the EU, ECF has also signed a letter issued by a European research alliance (including leading cultural and creative stakeholders and Universities across Europe) supporting the Latvian EU Presidency's focus on cross-sectorial cooperation between the cultural and creative sectors and other areas, and to which we propose a policy action for the conclusions of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
