Together with Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and the Publieke Werken Foundation, ECF presents the show 100% Amsterdam by Berlin theatre collective Rimini Protokoll. An exhibition and a book are also accompanying the performance.
51% of the population in Amsterdam is female, 12% is over 65 years, whereas 4% are aged 0-4 years. 230,549 of the 809,892 inhabitants of the city are single, 69,857 are married with children... How many of them are unemployed, in love, illegal, do yoga or are top earners? How many have saved a life, lost a friend, can buy a house or expect to die within a year? These and more questions, their future answers together with 100 ‘Amsterdammers’ ('inhabitants of Amsterdam' in Dutch) will have a leading role in the performance of 100% Amsterdam.

De voorstelling 100% AMSTERDAM van het Duitse theatercollectief Rimini Protokoll vertrekt vanuit de officiële statistieken van de stad Amsterdam en geeft een menselijk gezicht aan de cijfers. Honderd Amsterdamse bewoners staan als ‘acteur’ op het podium. Ze vertellen over hun alledaagse leven en nemen een standpunt in over onderwerpen die hen bezighouden. In de voorstellingen van Rimini Protokoll worden maatschappelijke issues onder- zocht met ‘experts’ van het dagelijkse leven. Het collectief wordt beschouwd als de grondleggers van het ‘reality’ theater. Spelers zijn geen profes- sionele acteurs, maar mensen die door hun beroep, hobby of identiteit iets te vertellen hebben. Hun getuigenissen en verhalen vormen een belangrijk deel van de voorstelling.
